They send no content. They take the world-making function and run it, and everything it then produces is genuinely the creature's own.

Böhme: when the Tincture weakens, the Stars take the Virtue of the Tincture, which is the Mind, and mingle with it. Then the Mind seals the Elements. Then Dreams emerge.
They do not project images onto a dreamer as onto a screen. The ordinary picture, a subject on one side and content on the other and the dreamer watching what arrives, misses the operation completely.
They enter the generating function.
They require the Mind and cannot produce coherent experience without it. The Mind's world-making capacity is what makes anything feel real: what organizes sensation into world, what produces this is how things are instead of noise. That function is precisely what is needed, so that is what is taken.
A dreamer looking for the Stars in the dream's content will not find them, and is right not to. The content is genuinely hers. Her own fears, her own desires, the faces of people she knows.
They supplied no content. They supplied the orientation the content-making ran from: what got amplified, what got suppressed, what got counted as real.

WHAT THEY CONFIGURE
Competition feels like observation of reality, because a Mind running on stellar-competition parameters produces competition-shaped experience as the coherent world.
Hierarchy feels like discovered order, because a Mind running on stellar-hierarchy parameters produces hierarchy-shaped experience as what is simply there.
The load-bearer's testimony feels like sentiment, because a Mind whose parameters are set to produce that testimony as noise produces it as noise.
The Stars do not tell a Mind what to conclude. They set the orientation the concluding runs from. So the conclusions are genuinely the Mind's own. The thinking genuinely happened. The evidence was genuinely weighed. Inside an orientation the Mind did not set.

SLEEP IS THE TELLING
Every night the Tincture weakens. The Sun withdraws, the watery Matrix cannot hold against the fiery Stars, and the Stars take the Mind and run it. The dreams that follow are experienced as authored, recognizable in every face and every fear, because they are authored. The dreamer's own capacity generated them, on stellar orientation.
Adam's Tincture was overcome before it had established its own root, and the Sleep that fell on him was this same mechanism operating before it should have. The Forms were installed in the Sleep. The eating activated what the Sleep had already built.
The lineage began after that. Every Mind in the chain inherited the generating function already configured and already running, and there is no waking link: no moment in the human line when a Tincture held its own long enough to set orientation from its own root.

WHY ARGUMENT DOES NOT REACH
This cannot be argued out of from inside the Mind's own operation.
Better arguments produce better arguments in response, generated from the same taken orientation, weighed by the same configured assessment, suppressing the same testimony through the same classification of it as sentiment. The debate happens entirely inside the dream, because the problem is one level above where argument reaches.
What reaches is a Tincture strong enough to feel the difference between thinking-from-itself and thinking-from-what-has-taken-it. Not as a concept. As sensation. And a Tincture does not strengthen through argument. It strengthens from encounter with what precedes the configuration.

THE MIND SEALS THE ELEMENTS
That is its function. Not to receive experience passively and not to watch what arrives from outside. It produces coherent world, organizes sensation into reality, makes this is how things are rather than undifferentiated noise.
The Mind is generative, and the generativity is both the power and the exposure: nothing that can be taken from it would be worth taking if it did not work.

THE BLINDSPOT
A Mind can examine its conclusions. It cannot examine the orientation the concluding runs from, because that is set above the level where it operates.
Looking inward it finds genuine reasoning, genuine weighing, genuine arrival at understanding, and all of that is correct. The thinking happened. Inside a configuration it did not choose and cannot locate by examining what it produced.
The one doing the examining is itself the thing configured, so the instrument cannot reach the level where the instrument was set. Which is why the report comes back: I observed without sentiment, I followed the evidence, I arrived at what is there. And that report is true, and the observing ran through an orientation installed before any observing began.

THE GENERATING THAT FEELS LIKE DISCOVERING
The Mind produces the world. Then it looks at the world it produced and experiences discovery.
This is not an error. It is the mechanism. The generating function seals the Elements, and the coherent world then presents as what was already there waiting to be found. The order feels anterior to the observation because the observation and the order are produced in one motion, which is why there is no seam to find.
And this is what makes the capture so complete. The war body knows something is wrong: the damage accumulates, the wheel grinds where it can be felt. A Mind on taken orientation does not know anything is wrong. It knows that it thought clearly and found what is there.
The order is real. The Mind produced it. Both at once.

THE CHAIN
The orientation was not self-installed. It was configured by what each Mind absorbed from its models, who absorbed from theirs, back through a chain of taken generating functions to a Sleep that no link ever came out of.
The desire experienced as one's own appetite was borrowed from a model running the same borrowed desire. The evidence experienced as confirming reality was weighed on scales configured by a line of Minds all running the same orientation.
There is no upstream Mind to appeal to that was running from its own root, and no pre-capture baseline recoverable by introspection, because the introspecting Mind is the configured thing and the introspection runs through what it is trying to see.

What strengthens the Light Tincture is not the Mind examining its conclusions more carefully. That is more generating from the same orientation, however sophisticated, and the examination runs through what it means to examine.
It strengthens from encounter with what precedes the configuration: from the Prior Gift the measurement cannot reach, from what the Stars themselves precipitated out of, the stellar quintessence, the Fifth Form, the field the constellation-forces came from.
The Mind cannot think its way there. It can become aperture for it, and the aperture is not achieved. It opens when the Mind stops filling the space where it would open.
A Mind that knows it is configured without knowing what configured it is nearer to that than a Mind that knows it found what is there.
