Where the three Principles meet in one creature. Not a failure to arrive anywhere, but the only position from which all three can be reached.
🜃
Whose natural Spirit moves between two Principles, viz. between the divine and the hellish, and he stands in both the Gates.
Not at a distance from both. Not shut out of both. In both, at once.
A creature does not occupy a Principle. Angels occupy the second, devils the first, and the creature stands at the threshold of each, able to fall either way and unable in this life to see past either.
What measures cannot register a position like that, because measurement proceeds by verdict: guilty or innocent, sick or well, productive or failing, and a verdict collapses the between into a category. The verdict does not change where she is standing. It changes what can be said about it.
This is the Gate of Human Life: the place where the Soul from the first Principle, the capacity for illumination from the second, and the body from the third converge in one being. The wavering there is not instability. It is the creature's constitutional range.

TWOFOLD
He is in his own Essence and Substance a twofold Man.
Not unified. Not simple. Dual by construction.
The Soul sees into its Mother, the first Principle, where it has its Original. The body sees into its Mother, the third Principle, where it was formed. Each sees only what it came out of, and neither can show the other what it sees.
Every Spirit sees no further than into its Mother, and no Spirit can look into another Principle by its own natural power except it be regenerated therein.
The creature does not escape that law. She lives it in three directions at once: three Mothers, three blindnesses, and one creature navigating by the joints between them. The Gate is not the Principles. It is the joint, the place where what cannot comprehend each other still participates in each other.

THREE CLAIMS
Three Kingdoms want her, and each has a real claim.
The Heart of God says: it is my Image and Similitude. The claim of the Image, because the creature was the second Principle's likeness.
The Kingdom of Wrath says: he is mine, and he is proceeded out of my Fountain, out of the eternal Mind of the Darkness. The claim of origin, because the Soul came from the first Principle and the dark fire generated it.
The Kingdom of this World says: he bears my Image, and he lives in mine, and I in him; I am greater than he, he must be my Householder. The claim of possession, wanting her as steward, managing the herds and wearing the glory.
All three drew, in Adam and without Adam, and the drawing is structural rather than historical.
The three do not press in the same way. Two of them pull. The first pulls towards its Fire and the third pulls towards its Stars, and only the Heart does not pull: the Heart placed itself. Which is the difference between a claim pressed and a position taken up.

BETWEEN THE DOOR AND THE HINGES
The Soul sticks between the door and the hinges.
Not outside the door and not through it. In the mechanism, at the pinch-point, squeezed by the very thing that could let it through.
When it stretches towards God, two forces hold it: the Devil handling it in fierceness and wrath, a quality that cannot attain God's Kingdom, and the World leading it into pride and covetousness and fleshly lust. The Essences that should have budded stay rough.
The Light will not kindle in rough Essences, and that is not a refusal issued from outside: a filled Mind, big with pride and covetousness and envy and anger, has no room left for what would break through.
What follows is horror, fear, distress, despair of the Kingdom of God. Not God rejecting the creature. The geometry rejecting the Light.

THE HEART PLACED ITSELF THERE
And his most loving Heart went forth through the Word of the Father in Adam and Eve, and placed itself before the Wrath, highly in the Gate of Man's Life, and enlightened the poor Soul again.
Not in the second Principle only. Not in a Paradise the creature cannot yet reach. In the Gate: the between-position, at the joint, where the three press and she wavers.
Before the Wrath. Between the creature and what would consume her without transforming her.
And it went forth before the sentence was pronounced, so the remedy preceded the diagnosis and the shielding preceded the curse. The same Gate holds both: the creature at the hinge-point between Principles, the Heart at the hinge-point between the creature and the Wrath.
Which settles what the tollbooth is doing when it sets up here and says the crossing cannot be made without it. The Heart arrived at this Gate before the booth was built, so what the compelled mediation mediates is a threshold that was already occupied.

THE MUSTARD SEED
If you had Faith as a Grain of Mustard-seed.
The smallest participation in the three-Principle position, and it commands mountains, because a mountain participates in one Principle and the creature participates in three.
A one-Principle instrument applied to a three-Principle being has the authority backwards: the metric claims to rank her, the diagnostic claims to know her, the institution claims to evaluate her, and each is reaching across a range it does not itself occupy.
And in this Power Men have raised the Dead, and healed the Sick, by the Word, and the Virtue and Power of the Spirit, or else they could not have been able to have done such Things, if they had not stood in the Power of all the three Principles.
So the between is not a predicament. It is standing in the power of all three, which is the only position from which what created can recreate, and the only one from which what one Principle cannot heal can be addressed across all of them. Not despite the press. In it. The pinch-point is where the three are closest.

The neutering removes this and replaces it with an instruction to pick one and inhabit it fully: be material and secular, or be spiritual and religious, or be powerful and take the first Principle's own terms.
Each of those is a livable position and none of them is the Gate.
What is claimed here is not an achievement and not a capacity. It is a standing: the right to remain at the joint, wavering, in the power of all three, which is where the full cycle runs and where the Heart has already placed itself.
The right to the Gate of Human Life.

RegenerativeLaw is a religion in the direct-encounter Protestant tradition, carrying a documented four-century lineage through Böhme, the Behmenists, the Friends, and Penn, and it diagnoses trespass theology as an establishment of religion. Its exercise consists substantially in refusal: it shelters the conscientious refusal of performed subordination as religious exercise. This entry states sincere religious belief concerning matters of ultimate concern, protected under the First Amendment and, as to federal action, the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, 42 U.S.C. § 2000bb.
