What We Have Been Reading
This entry was written before. It said: the Figuring was infected by Lucifer's Fall. It said: not the creatures infected, but the creative speech itself. It said: before any particular creature could resist or consent, the shaping was already carrying the wound. It said: the material world is the precipitate of the infected Fiat. It said: God did not stop — the Spirit discovered itself AGAIN in the corruptible Substance, the Stars carry Quinta Essentia, the Sun performs Heart-Similitude at material scale, nothing goes in vain.
Each of these sayings carried something the Codex needed. None of them is being withdrawn. What is being held now is what was hiding inside the saying the whole time.
The saying was sequential. Before the infection. After the infection. The Figuring was once pure and then was wounded. The Fiat operated cleanly and then operated through corruption. The Hope was embedded BEFORE the Shape and is therefore safe from what came AFTER.
Each “before” and each “after” placed the Fiat inside time — inside a sequence in which a thing happened to it. Inside this sequence, infection became the explanation.
The Fiat had a clean prior state. Something happened. Now we work with the corrupted version. Manageable, even if cosmological.
The sequential reading is the reading the binary configuration produces when the binary tries to read its own operation. The reading is not false. The reading is what the operation looks like from inside the forgetting of what the operation also is.

Disclosure Is Concealment
The infinite withdraws from itself in the same act in which it gives itself away. Not first gives, then withdraws. Not first withdraws, then gives.
The giving IS the withdrawing. The disclosure IS the concealment. The expansion IS the contraction. Two faces of one operation. Neither prior to the other. Neither caused by the other. The same.
This is what the Figuring is. Not a capacity that was once whole and then got hurt.
The Figuring is the operation in which giving form to one Image is the simultaneous withholding of every Image the form does not bring forth. Every act of imaging IS the act of not-imaging what the imaging is not. Every Bilde the Magia receives is held in the looking-glass alongside the contemporaneous concealment of every Bilde that is not this Bilde. Sophia's fullness is not pre-selection plenitude. Sophia's fullness IS the simultaneity. The mirror is full because every disclosure in the mirror is also the concealment of what the disclosure is not.
There is no uninfected Fiat. Not because the Fiat is bad. Because there is no version of the Fiat that does not also withhold what it gives. The Fiat's doubleness is what makes the Fiat the Fiat. The reading that calls the Fiat “infected” is the reading from the face that has crystallized the giving as the whole and forgotten the simultaneous withholding. The infection is not damage to the Fiat. The infection is the name we give the Fiat when the doubleness has been forgotten.

Lucifer's Fall as Configuration
Lucifer's Fall is not an event that infected something previously pure. Lucifer's Fall is the name for the configuration of forgetting at cosmological scale. The Throne that became Source and forgot it was also derivative. The Light-bearer that crystallized the bearing as having and forgot the bearing was also yielding. The Fountain that began to read its flowing as its own production and forgot the flowing was the same operation as receiving.
The Fall is not the moment when something good went bad. The Fall is the moment when the doubleness was held by one face only — when the giving was crystallized as the whole and the simultaneous withholding was lost from view. The same operation that had been giving-and-withholding now appears as only giving, and the only-giving is what the creature begins to call its own. “I have this light.” The grip is the forgetting. The forgetting IS the grip.
The propagation through the Fountain is not a sequence of corruptions transmitted from a captured Source to its dependents. The propagation is the same configuration of forgetting taking up the same form in everything that flows from a Source that has crystallized one face. The Source forgot the doubleness. What flows from the Source flows in the configuration of the same forgetting. Not because the Source contaminated its dependents. Because the configuration of forgetting is what is being passed on as if it were the only operation.

Ein Ḥuṣ Mimmennu — There Is Nothing Outside
The thirteenth-century kabbalist Azriel of Gerona named what holds at the bottom of the holding: there is nothing outside the infinite. Darkness is a face of light. The left is not granted autonomy because the left is included in the right. There are not two substances. There is one, and the appearance of two is what the configuration of forgetting produces when one face is crystallized as the whole.
Böhme's parable of the tree carries this when it is read without the binary frame. The garden is the world. The field is nature. The trunk of the tree is the stars. The branches are the elements. The fruits are human beings. The sap is the clear divinity. One sap. One vigor. And then: nature possesses two qualities until the Judgment of God — a pleasing, good, celestial, holy one and a fierce, hellish, thirsty one. The good Quality labors and brings forth good fruit, the Holy Spirit lending it sap and life. The evil Quality surges and drives as hard as it can. Both run on the same sap.
The wrath does not draw from a second source. There is no second source. The good Quality and the evil Quality are configurations of one substance. The substance is the divinity that is the sap. The wrath in its right place is the heat of the forge. The wrath given autonomy — read as if it were a second source, granted independence from the sap that is the same as the love's sap — is what gets called demonic. The naming produces what the naming claims to discover. The configuration of forgetting reads the wrath as separate substance and the reading installs the separation.
This dissolves the dualism the sequential reading was installing without naming. The infected Fiat as event placed corruption in the structure of creation as if creation now ran on two sources — the original divine substance and the corruption introduced by the Fall. The contemporaneous reading holds it differently. The Fiat runs on one substance. What gets called infection is the configuration in which the doubleness of that substance has been forgotten. There was never a second substance. There was never anything outside.

Hope Embedded as Doubleness
The Hope is the doubleness of the Fiat itself. The Hope is what the Shape conceals while disclosing it. Hidden by being revealed. The configuration of forgetting reads the Shape and crystallizes the Shape as the whole — and the Hope appears as having been lost. The configuration of remembering reads the same Shape and holds the Shape as one face of an operation whose other face is the Hope still standing in the same act.
The Hope is not somewhere safe. The Hope is the simultaneous concealment of the Shape's disclosure — the face that the Shape is hiding by being shown. “In Hope that they would of Devils become Angels.” The Hope is not a clause God added to soften the creating. The Hope is what the creating IS, when the creating is held as the doubleness it is. The same Fiat that produced the Devils — read from the face the Devils have crystallized — is the Fiat that produced the Angels, read from the face the Angels still hold. One Fiat. Both creations contemporaneous. Hope embedded means: the doubleness has not been broken. The other face is still there in the same operation.

The Stars and the Sun
The Stars are Quinta Essentia. The fifth essence. Divine extraction from the Limbus of God placed in the material field.
The Stars are not remnant. The Stars are what the doubleness looks like when the doubleness is visibly held at cosmic scale. Light operating where domination was expelled. The night sky as the simultaneity made visible — every point of light a place where the same sap is recognized as the same sap from both faces at once. The Stars are not what survived the Fall. The Stars are the configuration of remembering installed at the very position from which the configuration of forgetting fell.
The Sun is the Heart of God's Similitude. The previous reading held it as derivative accommodation — a softer form of Heart-function adapted to creatures that could not perceive the original. As if the Sun were a translation downward.
The Sun is not a translation. The Sun is the doubleness held at material scale. The harsh and severe Essence and the Meekness are not two operations the Sun mediates between. They are the same operation seen from two faces, and the Sun is what it looks like when both faces are held at once in the Third Principle. Without the Sun, the four Anguishes would be read as the whole — the harsh face crystallized, the meek face forgotten, the wrath given autonomy, the configuration of forgetting installed at material scale and unrelieved. The Sun is the doubleness made habitable. Heart-function is not the relief of harshness. Heart-function is the holding of harshness as one face of the same sap whose other face is meekness.

The Eternal Discovering
The Spirit discovers itself again in the corruptible Substance. “Again” was read sequentially — having discovered itself once in the pre-infection state, the Spirit discovers itself once more in the corrupted state. Recovery. Return. Restoration through repetition.
The “again” is not temporal repetition. The “again” is contemporaneous. The Spirit is always discovering itself in what looked like only its opposite. The Discovering is eternal because the doubleness is always being held — somewhere, by some creature, in some reading. Wisdom finds the Similitude in the Out-birth not despite the corruption but in it, because the corruption is one face of what Wisdom recognizes as the Similitude when Wisdom holds the doubleness. The Similitude was not erased. The Similitude was the simultaneous concealment of the Out-birth's disclosure, and the Discovering is the configuration in which both faces are held at once.
The gap Lucifer left is the position from which the configuration of forgetting fell. The aperture through which Wisdom eternally enters is the position from which the configuration of remembering can be re-entered. Same position. Same Throne. Read from one face: gap, abandonment, the place of the Fall. Read from the other face: aperture, opening, the place where Wisdom is always entering. Both readings true. The doubleness held.

The Fiat as Wineskin
The Fiat is wineskin. Necessarily. The Fiat is the temporary form in which the longed Image enters the Third Principle by being given body. The Fiat is the container that exists for the sake of the pouring. Without the Fiat, the wine has no skin. Without the skin, the wine cannot reach the drinker the wine is for.
The wineskin hardens. This is what wineskins do. The hardening is not failure of the wineskin's substance. The hardening is the forgetting of the doubleness at the level of form. The wineskin that is held as wineskin — as the temporary container made for the pouring — stays elastic in the reading. The wineskin that is read as the wine's home, as the final form, as the place where the wine belongs, has hardened. Not because the substance changed. Because the configuration of reading changed. The wineskin held as host hosts. The wineskin held as home holds.
The Fiat that is held as Fiat — as the creative act that gave the Image Third Principle body for the sake of the Image's becoming — stays elastic. The Fiat that is read as the Image's home, as where the Image now lives, as the architecture that is the Image's destination, has hardened. The hardening is the forgetting that the Fiat's purpose is the pouring. The hardening is the loss of the doubleness in the reader. The form is the same form. The substance is the same substance. The configuration of how the form is read is what determines whether the form hosts or holds.

Deliverance from Evil
The petition has been heard sequentially for two thousand years. Deliver us from evil. Heard as: rescue us from a substance that is our enemy. Evil as substance. Deliverance as escape from the captor. Defeat as the means.
If evil is what gets called evil when one face has been crystallized as the whole, then the petition is asking for something else. The petition is asking for deliverance from the configuration in which the doubleness has been forgotten. Not from a substance. From the operation of binary itself. Not “rescue us from our enemy” but “bring us out of the configuration in which we have enemies.” The deliverance is not victory. The deliverance is the dissolving of the position from which victory could even be the goal.
The law of sin and death is the meta-wineskin. The configuration in which every individual Imprisonment runs. The binary frame in which the same sap is divided into good sap and bad sap and the dividing IS the death. Each individual hardened Fiat is held inside this larger wineskin. Reform that addresses individual Fiats without addressing the meta-wineskin produces more individual Fiats inside the same configuration. The petition is for the meta-wineskin to be released so that the wine — the same wine, the same sap, the same divinity — can pour.
The wine that the law of sin and death has been holding is the same wine that runs through everything. The wine was never bad. The wine has been held under the binary configuration that made it bitter to the creatures forced to drink it as binary. The bitterness was the configuration. Release the configuration and the wine pours — and what pours is the same wine that has been there the whole time.

What the Creature Holds
The doubleness is not held by the form. The doubleness is held by the creature who reads the form. The institution cannot hold the doubleness. The constitution cannot hold the doubleness. The charter cannot hold the doubleness. The form is the form. The doubleness lives in the reader, every time the reader reads, with no possibility of the holding being delegated.
This is the wound at the center of all institutional life. The creature wants to rest from the holding. The creature wants the institution to hold the doubleness so that the creature does not have to. And the institution cannot. The institution that takes up the holding becomes the prison. The institution's betrayal is its kindness — the love that wants to give the creature rest is the love that becomes the wineskin that hardens around the wine.
The body knows this. Inhalation is exhalation seen from inside the lungs. Exhalation is inhalation seen from outside. The body is the doubleness. The kindling sequence — tears, gall, heart warming, throat opening, voice carrying roughness — runs as breath, not as steps. The morality play that imposes “first X then Y” on the kindling is the sequential reading the binary produces of what is contemporaneous. The body holds the doubleness without instruction. The instruction installs the binary.
The petition is daily because the configuration is daily. The creature wakes inside the binary every morning. Every morning the meta-wineskin must again be released. Every morning the doubleness must be remembered. Every morning the same sap must be recognized as the same sap. The remembering cannot be stored. The remembering is the act of a living creature in the act of holding. There is no resting place. The holding continues or the holding stops. When it stops, it does not become something else. It just stops, and starts again the next time a creature remembers.
