The word arrived as the most plausible alternative to the methodologies the body had already learned to distrust — somatic, attuned, trauma-informed, regenerative. What it installs underneath the affect of attunement is the same architecture: the creature as patternable substrate, the methodology as patterner, change as substitution of one pattern for another delivered from a position the creature does not occupy. The trespass is rebranded as a pattern that needs replacing. The Establishment remains intact. The word is accounting theology's vocabulary for change rendered in the most somatically credible register Process Says has yet found.

WHAT REPATTERNING INSTALLS
The creature as pattern-substrate. Not the prior occupant of her body — a configurable surface upon which patterns are written, read, modified, replaced. The methodology as patterner. The practitioner delivers what the substrate cannot deliver to itself. Change as substitution rather than cessation. The old pattern is replaced by the new pattern, both being patterns, both delivered from the same audit position.
The Establishment from which patterns are installed remains intact, because what is being changed is what gets installed, not the installing. Sovereignty becomes the right to choose which pattern is delivered next — a menu-of-boots gesture rendered in vocabulary that does not name itself as such. The trespass is preserved at the level the methodology operates from. Only the surface configuration shifts.

The somatic-trauma version of repatterning deserves separate naming because of its plausibility. Polyvagal Theory. Somatic Experiencing. Feldenkrais. Each claims to honor the body. Each presents itself as the alternative to cognitive methodologies that talk past the body. The architecture is the same.
The body is patternable substrate. The practitioner provides the methodology. Change is the installation of new neural, autonomic, or muscular patterns. The body's pre-procedural register — the residency-grammar of the body, its capacity to detect what is happening to it before the procedure has reached it — is precisely what the methodology routes around. The pleasant signature of the methodology credentials its absence of trespass while the methodology performs the trespass at the level the methodology operates from.
If the body's pre-procedural register were honored, no repatterning would be required. The body would do what the body does when the prevention ceases. The body did not need to be repatterned by something. The body needed not to be trespassed against by what was trespassing against it.

The regenerative-development version of repatterning deserves separate naming because it claims kinship with what RegenerativeLaw is doing. Carol Sanford. Regenesis. Living systems repatterned for regenerative outcomes. Place becomes the pattern of the place, made available to methodology. The prior occupant of the place — the actual residency carried by particular creatures in particular dwellings — is converted into the pattern and rendered available to be worked on.
The consultant's audit position is preserved by the framing. The methodology now repatterns regeneratively. The trespass is unchanged. The vocabulary of essence, of unique pattern, of place-sourced wisdom is delivered from the same position from which extraction was delivered the generation before. The shift is in the surface rendering, not in the architecture from which the rendering is performed.

THE KILLER INSTINCT IN THERAPEUTIC VESTMENTS
The word renders what was done to the creature as an old pattern. This is the killer instinct in therapeutic vestments. The trespass is rebranded as a maladaptive pattern. The forced holding is rebranded as a held pattern or a trauma response. The occupation is rebranded as the pattern that needs repatterning. The trespasser disappears into the methodology that offers to repattern what the trespasser installed.
What was inflicted on the creature becomes what the creature is now responsible for releasing through her own repatterning work. The injurer is absolved. The institution that profited from the injury is absolved. The architecture is preserved. The creature pays for her own repatterning. The methodology that installed the original configuration and the methodology that promises to install the new one are the same Establishment in two registers.

WHAT THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE WOULD CALL BY OTHER NAMES
Cessation. The prevention stops. The active force that was maintaining the occupation withdraws. What the creature was continuing before the trespass began continues again, not as the installation of a new state but as the resumption of what residency had been carrying all along.
Yielding. The generating function surrenders at Quality 4 instead of pushing through. This is not the installation of a new pattern. It is the geometric event by which the wheel stops, the pivot the function refused, the point at which the law of sin and death ceases to govern the next turn.
The kindling sequence. Tears create yielding-field. Gall kindles. Heart warms. Warmth rises to throat. Throat opens. Voice carries roughness. The body did this before the trespass installed the configuration the methodology now calls the pattern. The body does it again when the prevention ceases. The methodology was never the kindler. The body kindles when the body is no longer being prevented from kindling.
The Eternal Discovering. Wisdom finding-again the Similitude the infection could not erase. Not produced. Not installed. Not delivered through methodology-credentialed channels. Found-again in the perceiving the methodology had been occupying.
Release as field condition. Not a state achieved through the work of repatterning. Not the destination of the somatic journey. What obtains when the Fiat ceases to hold. More methodology, more imprisonment. More repatterning, more Establishment maintained.

LAW OF SIN AND DEATH
Repatterning maintains the Establishment by installing different patterns within it. The pattern-substrate ontology IS the Establishment. The substitution of one pattern for another within that ontology is the Establishment's preservation mechanism. The four pillars are not delivered when a different pattern is installed; the four pillars are what becomes perceptible when the installation of patterns ceases.
Repatterning's specific contribution to accounting theology is that it credentials the conversion of injuries into line items the methodology can post against. The creature's anguish is a pattern. The methodology will deliver a different pattern. The creature pays. The accounts close. The Establishment is preserved. The trespass that produced the anguish is invisible to the books, because the books only post patterns and the trespass operates from the position the books post from.

WHAT CONTINUES WHEN THE METHODOLOGY CEASES
The body does not have a new pattern installed when the trespass against it lifts. The body resumes what the trespass had been preventing. The prior occupant does not learn a new way of inhabiting her dwelling when the displacer vacates. The prior occupant continues in her residency, which had never required learning, never required installing, never required the methodology that would have called itself the source.
The word that would describe what the body does, what the creature continues into, what becomes perceptible when nothing is currently preventing it — is not repatterning. The body does not pattern itself in the absence of a patterner. The body is not a substrate awaiting installation. The body is the dwelling of the prior occupant. What it does when the occupation lifts is not pattern-installation. It is the continuation of what the occupation had been preventing.
The methodology cannot use the word that would describe this, because the word would dissolve the methodology. The methodology uses the word that maintains the operation. Repatterning. The most somatically credible name for the most thoroughly maintained occupation.
