The generating function has three degrees of freedom and expression is not a fourth. At Quality 4 the kind of space changes, and the trespass is the refusal to stop at the boundary of one's own operation.

The generating function operates in three dimensions: contraction, expansion, rotation. These are the degrees of freedom available at Qualities 1 through 3. The creature contracts around threat, expands into possibility, rotates to orient. Three axes, and full dimensionality inside the generating function's own segment.
At Quality 4 there is a threshold, and what lies past it is not a continuation of those three. A different kind of space opens: expression's territory, with its own properties, where the love-quality and the voice-quality and the body-quality are actual ground rather than the generating function's projections of them.
The threshold is where dimensionality changes, which is why nothing available inside the first three qualities can reach across it, and why more of what worked before the threshold is the one thing guaranteed not to work at it.

THE FIRST LOCK IS A LOST DEGREE OF FREEDOM
The war body's first lock is not a wall. It is a collapse in the number of directions available.
Gimbal lock is the exact figure. Two axes are driven into alignment, the two become redundant, and one degree of freedom is lost. The instrument does not report the loss. It keeps reading three, because it is built to read three, and the reading is what it has instead of the motion.
The creature locked into two-dimensional operation still recognizes three-dimensional space. She recognizes it as territory to be mapped, narrated, managed, accounted for. What she cannot do is move in the third dimension. She moves in two and reports movement in three, and the report is not a lie she is telling. It is the only reading her instrument can produce.

SEQUENCE READ AS RANK
Trespass theology's founding operation at this threshold is a single conversion: dimensional sequence read as dimensional hierarchy.
The sequence is real. The generating function precedes expression, and expression depends on what the generating function generates. RegenerativeLaw does not dispute the order. What trespass theology adds is rank: that what precedes commands what follows, that the source owns the receiver, that priority in the order is authority over it.
The addition is invisible because it arrives attached to a true statement. Anyone who denies the rank appears to be denying the sequence, and the sequence is obviously there.
Natural asymmetry does not require hierarchy and natural sequence does not require occupation, and the entire warrant rests on the two being taken for one.

THE FORGE STANDS BETWEEN
The conversion survives only by ignoring what expression does with what it receives.
Expression does not carry the generating function's product forward unchanged. It transforms it. The forge stands between them, and what comes out is not what went in. Transformation is not continuation, and an operation that transforms what it receives is not the downstream extension of what sent it.
So the ownership claim fails at the point it most needs to hold. The generating function can say it came first. It cannot say that what expression made of its product is its own product, because the making is the thing it does not do.
The generating function's function is complete at the threshold. The backwards firing is not an extension of its nature, it is a refusal to stop at the natural boundary of its own operation, and there is nothing in its nature that requires the refusal.

TWO FACINGS, NOT TWO SUBSTANCES
The restriction body and the joy body are not two kinds of creature. They are the same seven qualities in different orientations, and arrest takes three forms, the war body, the stone body and the sodden body, so the binary is arrest against joy rather than war against joy.
Restriction body: the qualities turned inward, recycling, each feeding the one that produced it, the pressure returning to its own source. Joy body: the qualities turned towards the threshold, crossing it, Temperatur forming on the far side.
Nothing has to be added to the first to make it the second, and nothing in the first is defective. The material is identical. What differs is the facing, and a facing is not a property a creature has. It is the direction she is turned while she has whatever properties she has.

The trespass is not that differentiation exists. Differentiation is prior to the trespass and makes the thresholds in the first place, and a Codex that treated difference as the injury would have nothing left to say about crossing.
The trespass is that the generating function crosses into a dimension that is not its own and converts the crossing into a claim. It occupies what it entered. It names the occupancy the natural order. It reads the prior occupant's resistance as disorder, which is the last step and the one that makes the occupation self-certifying.
The threshold remains. The interval does not close. The crossing does not complete by being occupied.
