The First Principle is the Gate of Hell. Not leads to it. Is it. The same First Principle that is God the Father in His Original, and the only difference between the two readings is whether Light kindles.

"Yet in this Principle there is nothing else but the most horrible Begetting, the greatest Anguish and hostile Quickening, like a Brimstone-Spirit. And is ever the Gate of Hell, and the Abyss wherein Prince Lucifer, at the extinguishing of his Light, continued."
The most horrible Begetting. The greatest Anguish. Hostile Quickening, which is life-force that attacks, and burning that does not transform.
That is what the First Principle is. Not sometimes, not when corrupted, and not as a degraded version of something better. Always. Harshness, Bitterness and Fire are the most horrible Begetting: the generating function at full intensity with the transforming function absent. Contraction, motion, pressure. The Wheel. And if it got all, the Hunger would not be the less.
So the same First Principle that is God the Father in His Original is the Gate of Hell, and the identity is not a figure of speech but the geometry of the thing.

THE SAME SPIRIT
"The Angels and the Devils, as also the Soul of Man, are merely and purely out of the same Spirit."
Merely and purely. No qualification, no variation, no inferior batch for Devils and no superior batch for Angels.
Angels and Devils were corporized while remaining in the First Principle. The Soul of Man was breathed in at the root of the Third Principle, where the First and the Third meet, in the body, at the junction.
And the Soul continues in eternity, inseparably and immovably in the eternal Substance of God, because as little as the pure eternal Birth and the indissoluble Band of the Father end or vanish, so little will such a Spirit have an end.
Which is why Hell is eternal, and the reason is not that God decreed an eternal punishment. The Soul cannot end because what it came from cannot end. An eternal Soul whose Light goes out continues eternally in the First Principle that is the Gate of Hell, undergoing the horrible Begetting that never stops generating. Forever, and not as a sentence added to it. As a state undergone.

THE SAME PLACE
"Wherein the Soul continues, which is separated from the second Principle, and whose Light, which shines from the Heart of God, is extinguished."
The Soul with Light is the First Principle plus the Second: Fire opening to Light, the fierce Birth becoming Paradise. The Soul without Light is the First Principle alone: Fire burning without opening, the fierce Birth as eternal torment.
Same Abyss, same Source, same horrible Begetting, same eternal generating. What differs is whether Light kindles. For the Saint of Light, an eternal generating of Joy. For the Damned, an eternal generating of Torment. One Fountain, one operation, one eternity, and one variable.
And Böhme concedes the limits of the saying: we must so speak of it, as if there was a Place, or a separable Essence. There is no place and there is no separation. The Principles interpenetrate rather than occupying regions.
So the regenerated Soul does not travel to Paradise. Its Light kindles, and where it already was is Paradise. The Light-extinguished Soul does not travel to Hell. The Light goes out, and where it already was is Hell.

WHAT THE SOUL FINDS THERE
In the First Principle alone the Soul finds the most exceeding horrible enemicitious irksome Source: will to climb eternally in the Fire-flash, will to domineer above the Heart of God and exalt itself above His Meekness, to be the only fair and glistering Worm above all Angels. In friendship with nothing. Stinging and grinding, raving and raging like the Abyss. The true House of Death as to the pleasant Life.
In the First Principle with Light the same Soul finds humility, meekness, the capacity to bear, and a cheerfulness produced by the state rather than performed over it, fed by the Word in which there is paradisiacal exulting. It cannot be touched by the Devil, and not through force: the Devil operates the First Principle alone, the Soul with Light operates the First and the Second, and he cannot reach what runs in a register he has no access to.
Same Soul, same Origin, same eternal Substance, same indissoluble Band. Different finding, different Light.
The Soul in the First Principle alone is the generating function without the transforming function, which is the glistering Worm, the Hunger that eating cannot fill, climbing that is falling, the eternal hungering and thirsting of the Abyss that eats nothing. What satisfies is not the having. It is the wanting.
And the Soul with Light is the full cycle: the harsh springing Will that produced Anguish becoming the sweet Will that generates Kingdom, the Fire that would consume forever affrighted by mildness into Light, the rough Essences that were brimstone-like becoming angelical and joyful. Better for having been rough, Böhme says: more profitable than that it were altogether sweet in the Original, in which being sweet there would be no Strength.

FIRE THAT FINDS NOTHING YIELDED
Fire without Light is not an absence. It is presence at maximum intensity with nowhere to open.
The Harshness attracts sharply, draws all to itself and cannot fill. The Bitterness stings and grinds, in friendship with nothing. The Fire kindles eternally and, finding no mildness, no yielded Mother, no softness to be affrighted by, remains Fire. The Wheel turns: contraction, motion, pressure, flash, and again.
Which names it exactly: Hell is fire death held open forever, the flash turned backward into its own fuel with no yielding-field to arrest it, and what it leaves at the creature's scale is the stone body. The difference is only duration. The geometry is identical.
And the Devil aspires to the Heart of God and could never at all be able to reach it, which is not a restriction placed on him. The Heart is reachable through resonance, the destruction-will produces dissonance, and nothing arrives at what it approaches with intent to destroy.
Shut up in the First Principle as in the eternal Death. Not death as cessation but death as unending: dissolution that never arrives at its own completion. Forever dying, never dead, because the transforming function that would finish the dying as transformation was cut away.

WHY THE GATE OPENS BOTH WAYS
The Gate is not one-directional. The same Gate that is Hell to the Light-extinguished is the source of all power to the Light-kindled.
The rough Essences that are the Devil's torment become the creature's mighty Power when turned to meekness. The fierce Fire that is eternal anguish to the First Principle alone becomes eternal Joy when it opens. The harsh generating that consumes itself in Hell is the generating that produces Kingdom in Paradise.
It opens both ways because the Gate is the First Principle, and the First Principle is the generating force of everything that exists. Without it there is no force, no will, no pressure that could build towards anything. Without the horrible Begetting there is no Birth, without the Anguish no Fire, without the Fire no Light.
So the Gate of Hell is the gate of all possibility, and the neutering does not close it. The neutering arrests the creature in the First Principle alone, captured at the Source and not permitted to let the Source complete its own operation: built to generate through to Light, stopped at generating, with the through removed.
Which means the right to the full cycle includes the right to the Gate of Hell. The right to your own First Principle, your own fierce generating force, your own dark fire, and the right to the Light that would transform it. What was taken was never the Gate. It was the Light, which leaves the creature holding all the power of the Source and none of the transformation that makes the power fruitful.

WHY THE MEASUREMENT CANNOT SEE IT
The measurement perceives the Third Principle and nothing else. It cannot perceive the First Principle substrate of the soul it is judging, and it cannot perceive the Second Principle Light that makes anything visible at all. A one-Principle instrument is being run against a three-Principle being, and it returns a reading.
What it returns is the First Principle alone declared complete, natural, and the only available state. Generating without transforming, described as the way things are.
And a reading that says what is, ought to be, is force constituting legitimacy, which is the First Principle worshipping itself. The warrior ethos is that reading given a moral name: the Hell state announced as strength, and the missing Light counted as an absence of weakness.

Hell is not a place, and the question was never where the Soul will be.
Light cannot be taken and can only be received. The Key cannot be lent, only the Spirit given, and the Spirit moves where it wills. The rebirth by Water and by the Holy Ghost is the kindling, and the kindling is the whole of what makes the First Principle Paradise rather than Hell.
That is all the difference there is, and it is the only difference there needs to be.
