Five living operations, sourced to Böhme, by which a will still exercising itself seals its own access to the second Principle shut. Not sins, which would locate the wrong in the will's character. Not the death configuration's mechanisms, which need no living grip to keep running. Only a seal, kept moment to moment by something still alive enough to keep gripping, or to stop.

Böhme names five operations that shut the creature off from the second Principle:
imagining in Fierceness, giving oneself up to Fierceness, wanting to be above Meekness, being Lord in oneself, living in Pride.
Each is a will's act, present tense, requiring a living creature to keep performing it. Stop performing any one of them and the seal it kept dissolves. This is what separates the five from the death configuration's own operations, the cut, the sorting, the rendering, the ledger, the accumulation. The castle configuration's mechanisms are arrested process: built once, running now, needing no fresh living grip to continue. A courtroom does not require its judge to re-decide its holding every morning. The five require exactly that, a living will re-gripping itself without pause, or the second Principle opens. The five are alive in a way the death configuration is not. They are also, for the same reason, the one place left in the configuration where a living will's own choosing is still directly at stake.

THE SEAL, NOT THE SIN
Sin names a moral residue, a mark on the character, the exact ground the therapeutic vestment and the concept of moral fiber already occupy: your response reveals your character, not the architecture that produces the violence. Naming the five as sins would hand the misattribution its own word back. Böhme's own language does not require it. When the five operate, the second Principle becomes inaccessible, not destroyed, sealed off. A seal closes. It does not indict. The wound is not that the will is bad; the wound is that the will is gripping, and a grip is not evidence of character, it is a posture, held, that could be released at any instant. What the five actually name is mechanical: five ways a will closes an access it could, at any instant, stop closing.

THE FIVE
Imagining in Fierceness seals the door by rehearsal: the will pictures the hardness before it is required, and the picturing is already the grip. Giving oneself up to Fierceness seals it by surrender: the will stops disposing at all and lets the hardness run the creature entire. Wanting to be above Meekness seals it by ambition: the will reaches past the very station, the second Principle's own governance, that would have received it. Being Lord in oneself seals it by usurpation: the will claims the sovereignty that belongs to what the will was built to receive, not generate. Living in Pride seals it by self-sufficiency: the will declares the reception unnecessary, and what needed to be received stays outside. Five different postures, one closure. None requires the others. Any one, held, is sufficient to keep the second Principle out.

THE CREDENTIAL
Every seal in this architecture gets marketed the same way: not as a closure but as a certification. A seal, in the ordinary sense, is also a mark of office, a wax stamp of authenticity, the thing pressed onto a document to prove it genuine. The five borrow that second sense without earning it.
Be strong, set boundaries, rise above it, trust yourself, you don't need anyone: each is the corresponding seal handed back as a badge.
Moral fiber is the clearest case on record. The creature that hardens experiences the hardening as evidence of character, the measurement high landing as mastery, I am stronger than I was. Nothing was earned. A door was closed, and the closing was stamped and returned as a credential.

THE PORTRAIT
What the credential delivers is not the living creature but her portrait: the fixed image the rendering hands back in place of what was actually there. The creature who has sealed herself under moral fiber does not receive a truer account of her own strength. She receives an image, sealed, stable, presentable, standing in for a will that is in fact gripped shut. The portrait and the credential are the same delivery seen from two sides: the credential is the seal as it is issued, the portrait is the seal as it is worn. Neither carries what the actual creature would show if the grip released, which is not a stronger image but a softer one, unstamped, unfinished, alive.

THE CONTAINER
The five do not seal an empty room. They seal a container built by and for the first Principle alone, contracted, hardened, sufficient to hold fire and nothing that fire's own yielding would require. What the second Principle offers, the Temperatur's reception, cannot enter that container regardless of how well it is sealed, because the container was never built to hold it. Resealing does not correct this. Resealing certifies the container as adequate at the exact moment its inadequacy is the whole problem.
This is why the five look like healing and function as the guarantee of disease: a tighter seal reads as protection, and what it protects is the container's standing refusal to become the different container the second Principle would actually fit. The correction was never a better seal. It was a container permitted to change, which requires the seal to lift, not tighten.

🜃
The five are not the death configuration, and they are not sins. They are what a living will still does to itself, seal after seal, each one certified as strength and each one a container reaffirmed rather than released. The death configuration inherits what the five produce and runs it without needing them again. But the five themselves are never inherited. They are performed, now, by something still alive enough to choose the grip. Which means they are also the one place left where the choosing could stop.
