The structure is borrowed from neurolinguistic programming, where the therapeutic double bind presents options that all serve the same therapeutic outcome. You can choose to change now or you can choose to change later. Both options presuppose change. The bind serves the creature's crossing.

The genuine delivery at the first capture point: the creature is heard. Acknowledged. Given options. Treated as an agent with preferences. This is real. The acknowledgment occurs. The creature feels met. The relief is genuine.
The prevention at the second capture point: every option maintains the apparatus that produced what the creature reported. The creature that crossed with real relief—they listened, they offered options, they took it seriously—does not examine what it crossed into. All pathways lead to the same occupied territory. The trespass continues wearing the name of institutional response.
The two capture operations function as one mechanism. The relief occludes the prevention. The creature cannot name the prevention without appearing to reject the relief. But they listened. But they offered options. But they tried.

A creature perceives the trespass operating—reports a pattern, names a structural condition, identifies what is pressing against it. The institution responds with options. The options vary in surface detail. They are identical in what they foreclose.
Formal process. The creature's report is forced into incident-based architecture. Each event isolated as point-event. The pattern—which is what the creature reported—is eliminated by the temporal cut that the formal process requires. The triple bind's first vertex: each incident isolated from every other.
Informal mediation. The creature's report is repositioned as interpersonal conflict. The structural condition becomes a relationship problem between two parties of apparently equal standing. The power differential—which is what the creature reported—is eliminated by the relational reframing the mediation requires.
Therapeutic support. The creature is offered assistance—coaching, counseling, resilience training. The creature is repositioned as the one requiring help. The apparatus—which is what the creature reported—is protected by redirecting attention to the creature's adaptive capacity. The creature's accurate perception of the trespass is reframed as the creature's difficulty in managing the trespass.
Each option performs one or more vertices of the triple bind. The formal process performs the temporal cut. The mediation performs the observer interrogation—shifting from what was reported to who is reporting. The therapeutic support performs the institutional virtue defense—the creature's structural critique converted into the creature's personal struggle.
The option never offered: We will examine how this apparatus structurally produces what you are reporting and cease the operation. This option is architecturally invisible. Not suppressed. Not considered and rejected. Not present as a possibility within the frame the institution can perceive. The institution's own measurement apparatus cannot generate the option that would examine the measurement apparatus. The given forecloses the question of whether the given is a construct.

The Consent Manufacture
The creature's participation in the chosen pathway manufactures consent retroactively.
When the creature later names the trespass—nothing changed, the apparatus is intact, the pattern continues—the institution responds: We offered you options. You chose this pathway. You participated. We followed through. If you are not satisfied, that is unfortunate, but we did our part.
The creature's choice becomes evidence that the creature consented to the frame that eliminated the creature's report. The creature helped select the method of its own prevention. This is the complicity factory's Position B—the Petitioner—manufactured at the moment of institutional response. The creature took the institution's stated terms seriously. Filed the claim. Followed the procedure. Was denied. Punished not because the petition was deficient but because the terms were fiction.
The manufactured choice converts the Petitioner's wound into self-blame. I chose wrong. I should have picked a different option. I did not engage properly. The creature internalizes the failure of a process that was designed not to succeed at what the creature needed it to succeed at. The process succeeded perfectly at what it was designed to do: maintain the trespass while performing institutional response.

Acknowledgment as Temporal Weapon
The performance of listening consumes time. The creature enters the institution's process. Months pass. The creature invests energy, attention, hope. Momentum dissipates. Documentation accumulates—documenting the institution's response, not the trespass the creature reported.
By the time the creature perceives that every option served the same prevention, the creature is exhausted from the process, isolated because time has passed and others have moved on, delegitimized because the creature tried the system and nothing satisfied them, and prepared for the push-out sequence—they are never happy, always negative, will not engage constructively.
The acknowledgment is genuine. The delay it produces is the weapon. The creature's report was real. The institution's listening was real. What was not real was the premise that any of the offered options would examine the trespass. The lag between acknowledgment and the creature's recognition that nothing will change is the window in which institutional defenses strengthen and the creature's capacity to name the trespass weakens.
This is more effective than direct denial. Direct denial—that did not happen—leaves the creature's perception intact. The creature knows what it perceived. The manufactured choice is more thorough: the creature's perception is acknowledged, honored, taken seriously, processed through institutional channels, and returned to the creature as evidence that the creature was supported and therefore has no remaining claim. The perception is not denied. It is metabolized. The institution consumes the creature's report and excretes institutional response, and the trespass continues unexamined.

The manufactured choice operates across all three faces. The surface details vary. The foreclosure of cessation is constant.
Nature Says. A creature reports that the measurement apparatus eliminates what the creature perceives. The institution offers options: adapt your communication style, participate in team-building, take time to reflect on cultural alignment. Every option positions the creature as the one requiring adjustment. The apparatus that eliminates the creature's perception is the ground on which all options appear. The given—the institution's measurement apparatus as neutral reality—is never one of the options.
God Says. A creature reports that the theological warrant produces harm. The institution offers options: engage with the pastoral care team, attend a reconciliation process, participate in a listening circle. Every option presupposes the institution's theological architecture is the frame within which healing occurs. The option that would examine the theology as trespass theology is not available from within the theology's own coordinates.
The Market Says. A creature reports that precarious conditions are structurally produced. The institution offers options: access the employee assistance program, attend time management training, discuss flexible scheduling within existing constraints. Every option positions the structural condition as the creature's individual capacity problem. The labor practices that produce the precarity are the given—the non-negotiable context within which all options appear.
In every case, the manufactured choice performs the same operation: the creature is given multiple paths through the tollbooth, and every path leads to the same occupied territory on the other side. The creature's selection of a path becomes evidence that the creature consented to the territory.
