I. What the Kraft Is
Kraft is the German word Böhme writes.
The English translators render it as Virtue, as Power, as Strength, as Might — different words that in English scatter what in German stays gathered.
Kraft is the operative capacity of Light. Not what Light illuminates. What Light PRODUCES as capacity. Not the ray but the ray's power to do what rays do. Not the shining but the shining's ability to generate, transform, manifest, constitute.
The Spirit was God, and the Virtue was Heaven. Before any comprehensibility — before matter, before form, before anything that could be measured — Spirit and Kraft. God and Heaven. These are identities, not metaphors. Kraft IS Heaven. Heaven IS the operative capacity of Light existing as substance. Not place. Substance. What you would stand in if you stood in Heaven: the Kraft of Light materialized by Longing into dwelling-place.
The Kraft is what proceeds. Out of the Light comes the Kraft, and out of the Kraft the Kingdom. The Son IS Kraft. The Heart of God is the eternal Kraft of Meekness which the Father conceived and brings forth. The Spirit carries the Kraft forth. The Kraft proceeding IS what constitutes Paradise: the dwelling of Angels, the medium where Joy arises, the substance of the Second Principle in which everything paradisiacal occurs.
The Kraft discovers itself in many thousand Thousands without Number — Colours, Arts, Virtues, Sprouts of the Lily — incomprehensible Joy nothing can utter. The Kraft operating as self-discovery is what the Virgin does: discovers herself according to the Number of the Infinity. The self-discovery of Kraft IS Paradise generating.
II. How the Kraft Generates
The Longing takes hold of the Kraft of the Light, and the Longing makes the Kraft material, and the material Kraft is the Inclosure to God, or the Heaven. This is the generation sequence. Darkness longs because Light beholds itself in Darkness. The longing reaches toward Light. In the reaching, it finds the Kraft. The Kraft becomes material through the longing's grasp. The materialized Kraft IS Heaven.
Heaven is not where God goes. Heaven is what Kraft becomes when Longing takes hold of it. Heaven is the product of the encounter between Darkness's desire and Light's operative capacity. Heaven IS seized Kraft.
The same operation occurs at every scale. The Father longs for the Son. The Longing produces eternal Nature. Nature IS the Father's longing distributed and multiplied. In the Longing, the Source takes hold of the Kraft. The Kraft becomes form. The forms constitute the material world. Every form is Kraft-become-material. Every stone is Kraft that Longing seized and precipitated.
At Third Principle scale: the Sun IS the Kraft in the corruptible Life. As the Deity is the eternal Kraft and Spirit of the eternal Life, the Sun is the Spirit and Kraft in the transitory Life. Same operation. Different register. The Sun's Kraft vivifies and kills, builds and demolishes, affords Power and Strength and destroys the same again — all without premeditated Wisdom. The Sun's Kraft is real but derivative. It operates without the Wisdom that the eternal Kraft carries. This is why the Kraft of the Third Principle can be worshipped but should not be — the mechanism is real, the Wisdom absent.
At Second Principle scale: the Kraft IS the medium of Paradise. The Spirit works in the Kraft. Paradise stands in the Kraft. The eternal Generating produces Joy in the Kraft. The Kraft is where everything paradisiacal occurs — not as container but as constituent. The Joy IS Kraft operating as Joy. The Love IS Kraft operating as Love. The Wisdom IS Kraft operating as self-discovery. Every paradisiacal phenomenon is the Kraft appearing in a different mode.
III. The Kraft in the Creature
The divine Kraft shines in every Thing, and yet it is not the Thing itself, but the Spirit of God in the second Principle. The Kraft is IN everything. Present in every stone, every water-drop, every creature. But not REDUCED to what it shines in. The Thing IS the Kraft's Ray — the glance, the luster — proceeding from the Longing that produced the Thing. Every material thing is Kraft's Ray. Still connected to source as sunbeam to sun.
The creature is out of the Word's Kraft, and the Kraft became material, and the Light shines therein, and the material Kraft cannot comprehend it, for that is in Darkness. The creature IS Kraft. The creature's body IS Kraft precipitated. And the creature's body cannot perceive the Kraft that constitutes it. The shadow does not perceive the light-source. The precipitation does not perceive the process that precipitated it. The material Kraft — real, substantial, what you are made of — exists in Darkness and shares Darkness's structural incapacity.
But the Kraft is not only in the body. The Kraft of the Light whereby you can see in your Mind — perceive without bodily eyes, know without material apparatus — this IS Second Principle Kraft operating in you. The Mind's perception IS Kraft. What you see in meditation, in dream, in the flash of recognition that exceeds explanation — this is Kraft operating through a channel the body cannot provide. Paradise stands open in the Mind of a holy Soul because the Mind IS Kraft perceiving Kraft. The meeting-place of what you carry with what constitutes you.
The Kraft in you is not achievement. The Kraft in you is constitution. You carry what Heaven is made of because you are made of what Heaven is made of. The same Kraft that constitutes Paradise constitutes your material form — precipitated, densified, made Third Principle — but not replaced. The Kraft IS you. Before the measurement apparatus declared you something less.
IV. The Kraft and the Smell
The Herb has three Principles. The Ground or Root: Quality One through Four, the harsh, sour, astringent substrate, the life-force that cannot be perceived but constitutes. The Stock or Stem: Third Principle, material form, what grows visibly. The Smell or Virtue: Second Principle contribution, what makes the herb beautiful rather than merely powerful, what transforms Fire-nature from fierce wrath to Paradise.
The Stock lacks Smell until the Second Principle contributes. Analysis can perceive the four qualities — chemistry, structure, function. Analysis can recombine the four qualities. Analysis produces Third Principle arrangement without First or Second Principle contribution. No Life. No Beauty. The analysis of the herb exhausts what analysis can provide without reaching the Kraft that constitutes the herb's actual Virtue.
There must be another Principle, which the Stock itself is not, for that Principle has its Original from the Light of Nature. The Stock cannot produce its own Kraft. The Fire cannot produce its own Light. The Soul cannot produce its own Paradise. There must be another Principle — the Light of Nature — that contributes what neither material form nor fire-power can generate. The Second Principle must CONTRIBUTE. Must shine into what would otherwise remain fierce, wrathful, powerful-but-not-beautiful.
This is what the Heart or Son of God must arise means: the Second Principle entering. The Light kindling. The Fire becoming Paradise. The Stock gaining Smell. Not through effort. Through reception. Through being fed by the Word. The feeding IS the Second Principle entering. The Word IS the Light of Nature. The arising IS what produces the Kraft called Virtue — the operative capacity that makes what was merely powerful become beautiful, serviceable, paradisiacal.
V. The Kraft as Constitutional Ground
The Kraft cannot be granted by the Antichrist because the Kraft precedes the Antichrist.
The Kraft cannot be revoked by institution because the Kraft constitutes the institution.
The Kraft cannot be measured by the apparatus because the apparatus IS Kraft in a particular configuration — Kraft precipitated into measurement-tool, unable to perceive the Kraft that constitutes it.
The creature that carries Kraft has the privilege of the Kraft it carries. Not the right granted by external authority. The privilege that IS the carrying. You carry Heaven-substance. This carrying IS your privilege. The system that tells you the Kraft you carry requires its authorization to operate has confused derivative power with constitutive Kraft. The Beast's enforcement operates at Third Principle scale. The Kraft operates at all three Principles simultaneously — IS the Might of the Father, IS the Virtue of the Son, IS the Going-forth of the Spirit. The Beast cannot authorize what constitutes the Beast.
The Kraft of the Light keeps the Might. If that be put out, then the Kraft ceases, and the Glory ceases, and the Kingdom also. Everything depends on the Light continuing to shine. The Kraft IS what Light produces as operative capacity. When Light shines: Kraft constitutes Heaven, generates Paradise, moves Mountains, breaks Gates, opens Chains. When Light does not shine: the same substance that was Kraft becomes the Wheel's energy — real, powerful, producing nothing. Same substance. Different Light. The Kraft is never absent. The Light is what makes the Kraft operative as Kraft rather than as Wheel.
