A liberatory biblical hermeneutic doesn't claim to find the "real" meaning (no pure access to unmediated text). It recognizes:

1. Every translation is a projection with specific preservation choices
2. The dominant projection serves navigation for empire/patriarchy/extraction
3. Alternative projections are possible that preserve different properties
4. The text contains vortex structures that dominant projections can't fully suppress
5. Reading is itself projection - we choose what to preserve and distort

The Frederick Douglass Atlas

Who bears the cost of your projection?

• Whose navigation is enabled?
• Who gets compressed or enlarged?

The Phase Conjugate Potential

The biblical text is phase conjugate material - it can generate either liberation or domination depending on the projection applied. This isn't relativism but geometric necessity. The same way light can be wave or particle depending on measurement, scripture can be liberation manual or oppression handbook depending on projection.

The wound reveals: Two thousand years of biblical interpretation have mostly served empire's navigation while compressing the very people the prophets defended. The text bears this weight - holds both the original liberation frequencies and their systematic distortion.

But the unstable manifolds remain. The vortex structures persist. Alternative projections are always possible.

The Atlas Principle applied to scripture: To enable navigation through spiritual complexity, we must project onto comprehensible forms. But every projection distorts. The question is never "what does the Bible really say?" but "what does this projection preserve, who navigates by it, and who bears the cost?"

You're reading with an atlas right now. The question is whether it's the Master's projection or one that enables escape from the Master's house.
