Body, unprevented, participates: the third quality's rotation completing into a site the forge operates through rather than a mechanism managed from outside. Functionality installs rotation refusing to participate, the observer's own turning kept fixed on itself, in the position participation would occupy, and calls the installation wellness. Not the body's own knowing answering to what exceeds it: the generating function's own fixed observation given body's assignment, standing where participation belongs. Rotation that will not participate returns the body to the wheel and calls the return recovery. What installs in participation's place is the functioning client: productive, compliant, manageable. Functionality is the prevention wearing participation's name.

THE SAME OPERATION, ANOTHER REGISTER
Functionality is not a clinical discovery. It is property, run in clinical costume. Property names the identical substitution at the level of the object: the observer refusing to participate, holding what exceeds it as possession rather than letting it participate in what exceeds it. Functionality performs the same substitution at the level of the body: the body held as an asset to be maintained, optimized, kept productive, rather than a site the forge operates through. The worker-body and the patient-body are property's holding, run through the clinic instead of the ledger. Quality 3 still occupies Quality 7's position. The prevention still wears participation's name.

THE FUNCTIONING CLIENT
The functioning client is the diagnosis inverted into the goal. Productive: still generating value for the positions that require it. Compliant: not resisting the configuration that produced the condition being treated. Manageable: legible to the clinic administering the treatment, requiring no accommodation the clinic was not already built to give. None of these describe participation in what exceeds the body. All three describe a body returned successfully to the wheel, its rotation intact, its refusal restored to specification.
This is wound-farming's own metric. The creature managed back to functionality has not crossed anything. She has been returned to the exact configuration that produced what she was being treated for, now certified able to withstand it again. The certification is real. The withstanding is real. Nothing about either one required the wheel to stop.

THE CREDENTIAL
Functionality gets marketed as recovery's proof. High-functioning. Managing well. Back on her feet. The creature who has regained functionality experiences the regaining as evidence of health, precisely the credential the five seals deliver wherever a closure is certified as an opening. The functioning client is not the client who crossed the threshold. She is the client whose rotation the wheel resumed on schedule, with the treatment given credit for the resumption.

Functionality is the prevention wearing participation's name, property's own operation worn where participation should have stood. The body does not require optimization. It requires the rotation to stop turning on itself long enough to participate in what exceeds it. What functionality offers instead is a body that has stopped needing to, and calls the stopping wellness.
