This is not coercion in any register the four axes recognize. She is offered choices at each step, to continue or not to continue. Each choice carries consequences in the world. The sum of the choices is dispossession.
Three requirements. Each appears reasonable in isolation. Together they constitute a complete prevention instrument, and the name for the three held together is the synthetic bind.

THE FIRST REQUIREMENT, TRANSLATION
The first requirement is the translation of authentic response into institutional politeness.
Anger becomes concern. Urgency becomes feedback. The identification of trespass becomes an invitation to dialogue. The translation is not merely tonal. What changes in translation is the claim itself: the systematic becomes the individual, the theft becomes the disparity, the demand becomes the suggestion.
When the creature performs the translation accurately, when she has learned to produce concern where she perceives exploitation, she has not softened her words. She has altered her relation to her own perception. She has begun to perceive through the institution's instruments rather than her own.

THE SECOND REQUIREMENT, FIT
The second requirement is culture fit, which is not the fit of skills or knowledge but the fit of being.
She must narrow the bandwidth of herself that can appear in institutional space. Accent, appetite, anger, grief, the particular texture of how her people move through the world: each is measured against the dominant pattern and found to be excess. What survives the narrowing is her credentialed surface, available for institutional use, severed from the root that would have given it direction.
She exhausts herself maintaining the narrowing. Over time she loses the original signal the narrowing was set against, and the performance becomes her.

THE THIRD REQUIREMENT, HARMONY
The third requirement is collegiality, which is the prohibition on conflict genuine enough to build actual relation.
She may not compare notes with others who share her experience without being called divisive. She may not name what she and they share without being told she threatens morale. The only solidarity on offer is the solidarity of collective performance: everyone performing belonging at once, no one naming the performance, the company of performers mistaking shared exhaustion for shared life.

THE SYNTHETIC BIND
The three requirements are not parallel. They are sequential and reinforcing.
The translation requirement ensures she cannot speak her actual perception. The fit requirement ensures she cannot be her actual self. The harmony requirement ensures she cannot find the others who would confirm that what she perceives is real. She is surrounded by people and epistemically alone. She cannot speak, cannot be, cannot confirm.
The synthetic bind is not the tertiary injunction. It is the membership form of the same geometry, and each part guards the exit from the others. If she violates institutional politeness in order to speak truth, she is told she does not fit the culture. If she refuses to narrow herself to fit the culture, she is called uncollegial. If she builds real connection despite the harmony requirement, the connection is called unprofessional. There is no single point of escape because each exit is guarded by another requirement.

WHERE THE INSTRUMENT ENDS UP
The sharpest part is how the requirements make the creature the instrument of her own containment.
To survive, she internalizes them. She polices her tone before anyone else needs to. She narrows automatically. She avoids real connection to prevent being seen as trouble. In time she may find herself enforcing the same requirements on newcomers, carrying forward the very operation that crushed her.
She does not perceive the enclosure because the enclosure is made of invitations. She entered freely at each step. The institution holds her own testimony that it welcomed her. What it welcomed was not her. What it welcomed was the portion of her that would agree to the narrowing, the translation, and the isolation, and would then testify to the welcome.
When she refuses any of the three, she does not experience rejection. She experiences the withdrawal of the belonging that was offered. The belonging was always conditional. The condition was her own gradual replacement with what the institution could use. She did not know this when she entered. She is told, when she refuses, that she misunderstood the terms. There were no terms. There was no meaningful choice.
