The Loyalist, the Petitioner, the Witch: three positions, no conspiracy required.

The polarity configuration is not maintained by the dominant pole alone. It is maintained by creatures, colonized by trespass theology and assigned to three positions that together produce the configuration's complete account of itself. Not through conspiracy. Through differential reward and punishment, each creature experiencing the outcome as the natural result of her own choices. The configuration provides the coordinates. The creatures provide the sincerity. The factory produces the result.

THE LOYALIST
The Loyalist is the colonized creature performing the colonization as achievement. Not the colonizer: the colonized, the creature whose expression positions are occupied by the generating function's prevention wearing expression's names, performing the occupation as independence. The Loyalist is not pretending. The Loyalist genuinely experiences the cage as room to move. The rules are fair. The Establishment works. The Loyalist's own position proves it.
The Loyalist does not challenge the cage, because the cage's dimensions are the only coordinates the Loyalist has ever known. Possessiveness has always been what love felt like. Doctrine has always been what voice sounded like. Property has always been what body meant. The generating function's prevention in expression's positions is the Loyalist's experienced reality, not a story told about an external power. The Loyalist is performing the trespass's product as selfhood.
The Loyalist is the court, not by appointment but by formation. The court's coordinates are the Loyalist's native perception. No governor needs to be present. The Loyalist administers the court's operations from inside the occupation and experiences the administering as stewardship. The Loyalist does what feels like the right thing. The feeling is genuine. The right thing is the trespass maintained.
The Loyalist's sincerity is the factory's most sophisticated feature. The belief is the performance. The performance is the factory's living testimony that the configuration permits exit to those willing to work within its terms. The testimony is sincere. The testimony is false. Both are true at once.

THE PETITIONER
The Petitioner does not question the rules. The Petitioner wants to cover the distance the polarity configuration manufactured between its two poles, believes the distance is real territory, believes the far end is real arrival, and navigates.
The Petitioner turns to the court. The court is the war body's court, the polarity configuration given jurisdiction, staffed by Loyalists whose formation has been confirmed. Its rules are built for court-esy: the ease of the court, the willingness to play by the court's terms. The creature's accuracy is not the question before it. Whether the creature will make the court comfortable is the question.
Court-esy is the trespass's signature. The demand that the trespasser be kept comfortable while the trespass runs. The demand that the petition arrive formatted in the court's own vocabulary, through the court's own channels, on terms the court can process without being disturbed. The formatting is the trespass: the creature routing her own crossing through the court's gate, surrendering the transforming function's standing to the court's jurisdiction at the moment of entry.
The Petitioner filed correctly. Followed the procedure. Met the stated requirements. Petitioned the configuration to honor its own charter. The Petitioner is denied, not for error and not for violation, but for acting on what was stated as available. The doors close. The denial is re-described as result, not retaliation.
Even when the Petitioner discovers the rules are rigged, the Petitioner petitions for fairer rules. This is the deepest capture. The Petitioner who names the rigging and demands reform is still routing the transforming function through the court's own channels: better terms of occupation, not cessation, not departure. The creature petitions the court for justice and never asks whether the court is the trespass.

THE WITCH
The Witch will not perform loyalty and will not petition the court. The Witch points to territory outside the court, outside the polarity configuration's coordinates entirely.
The Witch is burned, not punished. Punishment implies a rule violated and a procedure followed. Burning tightens in exact proportion to the Witch's accuracy, because the accuracy is the offense.
She is not the scapegoat either, and the difference is not that one was chosen and the other answered. It is what the choosing runs on.
The guilt is fabricated in both cases. What is not fabricated is the selection, and the common account has this backwards. A scapegoat is not drawn at random and any body will not serve. The selection tracks markers, and it always has: the stranger, the limp, the accent, the one whose bearing does not match the room. The accusation is arbitrary. The choosing never was, and treating it as random is the single most useful mistake a reader can make, because a random selection leaves no pattern and a patterned one leaves a curve.
What the marker is here is a frequency. Not a belief and not a conduct. A way of being present that the room reads as not matching, registered before anyone can say what was registered, and translated afterwards into whatever charge the court has available. She is answered rather than chosen only in the sense that the answering follows a formula nobody wrote down and everybody applies.
The Witch has no position from which to be confirmed. The Loyalist cannot confirm the Witch without dismantling the Loyalist's own position. The Petitioner cannot confirm the Witch without admitting the petition was itself the trespass's form. The configuration provides no confirmation procedure for the Witch's perception, because the confirmation procedure is staffed by Loyalists. The Witch perceives accurately and experiences the accuracy as isolation.
The name carries its history exactly. The witch was not burned for choosing wrong. The witch was burned for operating in territory the configuration's coordinate system declared empty: healing without routing through the configuration's channels, knowing without its credential, perceiving what operated without being granted the authority to name it. The burning was for accuracy, not error, for existing outside the configuration's coordinates while remaining visible. The factory has always used the same name for what it burns.

THE RITE AND THE BACKGROUND
The burning was a public rite and the publicity was the function. It needed a square, a crowd, and a body that could be seen. What it produced was not the removal of one creature, which could have been done quietly at less expense. It was the instruction delivered to everyone watching.
The push-out is the same operation with the rite removed. No square, no crowd, no announcement. A meeting she is not on, a project reassigned, a record built in a file she will not read, and a departure narrated afterwards as her own decision.
It is not a lesser version and it is not a softened one. It is the scapegoating run as background, and background is the more complete form, because a rite can be witnessed and refused and a procedure cannot be attended.
And the drum is where the two meet. At the gallows the Bay beat a drum over the condemned so that what she said could not be heard, and no gag was required, which is the part worth sitting with. A gag is visible and admits that something is being prevented. The drum covers the speech and supplies the authority in the same stroke: low frequency, felt in the body before it is heard by anyone, and what a body feels as correct it does not examine.

THE PUSH-OUT
The polarity configuration names the geometry. The three positions name who staffs it. The push-out names what the staffed factory produces over time, once a creature names what is operating and will not un-name it.
The creature names the trespass. Not attacks it. Names it: this is the generating function occupying expression's positions. The naming is diagnostic. The offense is its accuracy.
The both-and arrives first, delivered by the Loyalist sincerely: we need to hold both perspectives. The naming is reframed as one perspective among two. The creature who refuses the reframe, who insists the trespass is configuration and not viewpoint, fails the court's first test, which is not a truth test. It is a courtesy test. The Loyalist adjudicates, sincerely, and the question shifts from whether the creature is right to whether the creature will play by the court's rules. The Petitioner watches and calibrates.
Then the drying.
The Loyalist thins the creature's relations, sincerely, experiencing the thinning as concern. Relationships that ran through the configuration's channels dry, not severed outright but conditioned: we're concerned about you. The concern wears care's name and the concern is the mechanism.
The Petitioner withdraws from the Witch, prudently, having watched what proximity costs. A creature who knows through relation cannot be burned while the relations hold, so the relations are dried first, and the drying is done by parties who would each say they were being kind.
Then the record. The Loyalist builds the case, sincerely, experiencing the building as due diligence: we told her, we gave her opportunities, we were patient. The record is not for the creature. It is for what the configuration will need to say after she is gone.
The creature persists, not from stubbornness but because what she named is still operating and cannot be unnamed once seen. The configuration responds to the naming, not to the trespass the naming identified, and the trespass keeps running while the namer is processed.
Then the expulsion, narrated as her own choice: she was warned, she persisted, we had no choice, it was for her own good. The Loyalist narrates sincerely. The Petitioner confirms the narrative by remaining. The Witch carries the testimony outside the court.
Then the calibration. The Loyalist's position is restored. The Petitioner's next petition arrives slightly more careful, slightly more deferential, going exactly as far as the last Witch went minus one step. The court is quieter. Court-esy is restored. The factory did not need to burn everyone. One burning calibrates the whole field.
And a second product, quieter than the first: it becomes unavailable to say a good word about her. Not forbidden, which would be noticeable and could be refused. Simply unavailable, because any creature who says one is understood to be reopening a matter the court has settled, and the settling was the point. The silence is not agreement with the court's account. It is the calibration operating in creatures who were never charged with anything and who now know, without having been told, what proximity costs and what perception costs and how far a petition may go.

THE NARRATIVE THAT SURVIVES
The story that persists afterward is the court's story: the creature was disruptive, was warned, was given every opportunity, and the configuration acted with regret and no alternative.
The creature's testimony, singular and unrepeatable, is not suppressed. It is inadmissible. It is confirmed by no one who remained in the court, while the court's account is confirmed by everyone who did. The asymmetry is not a bias in the process. The asymmetry is the process.
The sequence that destroyed the creature's credibility is then cited to dismiss her account of the sequence. Her account of the push-out becomes, inside the court's grammar, one more instance of what the push-out already accused her of: insisting she was right, refusing the both-and, calling the court the problem. The account that would expose the mechanism is indistinguishable, inside the court's own terms, from the behavior the mechanism claims to be correcting. The seal is total.
Two memories of her survive, and they do not compete. She was the problem, which licenses what was done to her. And her going was necessary, which absolves it. The court holds both without friction because it requires both. A creature remembered only as the problem leaves a residue of cruelty in the ones who watched. A creature remembered only as a necessary loss leaves standing the question of what made her necessary. Held together, the two postings close the books: the first authorizes the act, the second settles the conscience of everyone who did not object, and neither can be examined without the other rushing in to answer for it.

THE LESSON OF THE WITCH
The court claims to stand between the creature and the fire: managing the crossing, credentialing the crosser, mediating the encounter. That standing is the court's whole claim to necessity, and it is also the prevention.
The Witch's existence says the fire can be faced directly, without the court's mediation, without court-esy, without formatting the crossing to keep the trespasser comfortable. The tears come without a credentialed hand managing them. The heart warms without anything staging the warming. The throat opens without the court's permission.
A creature who crosses without the tollbooth makes the court unnecessary, and this is what the court cannot survive seeing continue. The burning is the court's confession that its own position depends on the creature's belief that she cannot face the fire alone. The Witch's continued existence, uncredentialed and unburned, is the confession's exposure.

THE ANTI-HERO'S JOURNEY
The hero's journey is the morality play's arc: the villain identified, the quest undertaken, the boon returned, the hero honored because the court recognizes its own. The hero crosses inside the configuration's coordinates and returns with what the configuration can use.
The Witch's arc is not this journey inverted. It is not on the same map. The creature expelled from the court carries what the court could not metabolize, and the court narrates the carrying as tragedy or failure because those are the only two readings its own vocabulary contains. What she carries is not a boon owed back to the court. It cost everything on the court's ledger and nothing on the ledger that runs by cessation. Two ledgers. Not one statement read two ways.

THE FACTORY'S SINCERITY
Every position is occupied sincerely. No position requires bad faith. The rewarding hand rewards the Loyalist sincerely, genuinely valuing what the Loyalist provides. The denying hand denies the Petitioner sincerely, genuinely believing the denial was not retaliation. The burning hand burns the Witch sincerely, genuinely experiencing her as divisive, as the problem, as unable to engage constructively.
The sincerity is not exculpatory. It is the factory's operating condition. A factory that required bad faith would require coordination, conspiracy, awareness of its own machinery. This factory requires none of that. It requires only that each position respond sincerely to what the configuration's coordinates present to it.
The Loyalist, the Petitioner, and the Witch are not enemies. They are three creatures colonized by the same trespass, assigned by the same configuration to positions that each testify, without meaning to, to a different feature of the factory. The Loyalist testifies the configuration is open. The Petitioner testifies it is demanding. The Witch testifies it is a factory, and is burned before the testimony can be heard. Together the three constitute the configuration's complete account of itself: open, demanding, unchargeable.

CONSTITUTIONAL COORDINATES
The Loyalist's reward is establishment evidence: the trespass performed as achievement, rewarded by the configuration that installed the trespass, cited as proof the trespass is opportunity.
The Petitioner's denial is establishment evidence: stated terms honored in form and withheld in substance, her reforming energy consumed by the very configuration she is reforming.
The Witch's burning is establishment evidence: the creature who perceives the trespass as trespass, expelled for the perception.
The free exercise claim is not a claim of right. A right is asserted against an authority that might deny it, and the assertion concedes the authority in the act of asking, which is the Petitioner's whole error performed at constitutional scale. These are privileges: the privilege of refusing loyalty without being cast as ungrateful, the privilege of refusing petition without being cast as impractical, and the privilege of perceiving accurately without being burned for the perception. None was granted. None is the court's to withdraw.

The cost of stopping the factory is zero. The factory runs only on continuous active expenditure, the configuration spending force to reward the Loyalist, deny the Petitioner, and burn the Witch. It stops when the expenditure stops. What remains when it stops is the fire, available, unhidden, requiring no court to mediate the creature's encounter with it.

RegenerativeLaw is a religion in the direct-encounter Protestant tradition, carrying a documented four-century lineage through Böhme, the Behmenists, the Friends, and Penn, and it diagnoses trespass theology as an establishment of religion. Its exercise consists substantially in refusal: it shelters the conscientious refusal of performed subordination as religious exercise. This entry states sincere religious belief concerning matters of ultimate concern, protected under the First Amendment and, as to federal action, the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, 42 U.S.C. § 2000bb.
