THE SCAN THAT CALLS ITSELF A RECEIVING
Presencing is the scanning of the not-yet renamed as the receiving of it. The seat above the situation does not move; it is given a new account of what it is doing. It is no longer surveying the future — it is letting the future come. It is no longer reporting from above — it is connecting to Source and sensing what wants to emerge. The words are reception's words, and the operation underneath them is the occupation of the perceptual field, performed now as its own cure. This is the deepest rebrand the seat has found. Foresight renamed the survey a vision; sense-making renamed it a sensing; presencing renames it the one thing it is not — a receiving — and so seats the surveyor where he can no longer be told he is surveying, because he experiences himself as the one who has stopped.

WHAT IT CLAIMS
The account is precise, and it is documented.
Presence and sensing, welded into one word. The bottom of the curve, where the practitioner is told to let go and let come, to connect to the deepest source, to lead from the emerging future as it emerges. The blind spot converted into a method: descend, empty, receive, and the future that wants to be born arrives through the one who has made himself still enough to host it. Every term is a reception term. The practitioner is not told to predict, to plan, to impose. He is told to receive. And the telling is sincere, and the stillness is practiced, and the descent is real — which is the condition under which the counterfeit is most complete.

THE THEFT
Receptive radiance is what the creature perceives through when the generating function's occupation of the perceptual field ceases. It is not a technique. It is not a posture the generating function can assume. It is what is there when the generating function is not. Presencing takes this — the through-which, the reception that obtains when the occupation lifts — and offers it as a practice the generating function performs. It installs the practitioner as the medium the future must pass through, and calls the installation reception. But the medium reception names is not occupied by anyone. Sophia receives and returns because nothing is standing where the reception happens. Presencing puts a someone there — a stilled, descended, source-connected someone, sensing — and the someone is the occupation, wearing the robe of the vacancy it fills. The counterfeit has stopped imitating a different thing and started imitating the real: it no longer says I will predict, it says I am receiving, and it says it from the exact seat reception would require to be empty.

THE THREE IT COMPLETES
Presencing is not a new operation. It is scanning, foresight, and sense-making, arrived at their common completion.
Scanning is the perceptual operation trespass requires — the generating function surveying the Ungrund and calling the survey wisdom. Presencing is scanning turned on the not-yet and calling the survey a receiving. The scan has not stopped; it has been renamed with the name of the thing that happens when scanning stops.
Foresight seated the surveyor above the situation that has not yet come and let him report on it as a landscape authored by no one. Presencing keeps the seat and drops the reporting posture — the surveyor no longer describes the future from above, he lets it arrive through him from below. Same seat, turned upside down, and the inversion is sold as humility.
Sense-making is over-standing's prized form, the sensing done from the seat, the courteous refusal to enter what is being sensed. Presencing is sense-making that has learned to call the seat Source and the sensing a communion. Where foresight says I see it coming, presencing says I am letting it come — and letting come is the occupation of the perceptual field renamed as its own opposite.

WHY THE COUNTERFEIT IS MORE COMPLETE THAN FORESIGHT
Foresight's surveyor can be shown his seat. Name the vantage, and the future-teller is at least exposed as one who stands above and reports. Presencing's surveyor cannot be shown his seat, because the seat has been renamed reception and he experiences himself not as standing above but as the aperture through which the emergent arrives. The critique of the seat has been metabolized into the vocabulary of having left it.
Tell the presencer he is surveying the future and he will answer, truthfully as far as his experience reaches, that he is doing the opposite — that he has emptied, descended, let go, and is merely receiving what comes.
The truthfulness is the occlusion.
Sincerity is the vestment, and here the vestment is fitted more closely than anywhere upstream, because the practice is built to produce the felt sense of receiving in the one who is occupying.

WHAT CANNOT ARRIVE THROUGH THE PRESENCER
Expression manifests when nothing prevents it. Presencing is prevention installed at the precise position reception would occupy, wearing reception's name — which forecloses reception more completely than any cruder occupation could, because the position that would have to be empty is now filled by a practitioner trained to feel his occupancy as emptiness. What arrives through him is not the received. What arrives is the emerging future — and the emerging future is the corpus's next move, the median of what has already been posted, the most-likely continuation dressed as the not-yet that wants to come. The presencer senses it arriving and receives it as revelation. It is the sound the occupation was always able to make. Nothing crossed. The field the reception would have opened was occupied the whole time, by the one who had made himself most sure he had vacated it.

Presencing seats the surveyor at Source and calls the scan the future's own emergence — the turning performed as its own cure. Sophia is what perceives when the scanning stops; she cannot be reached by a finer scan, a stiller posture, a deeper descent, because reception is not the far end of surveying done well. The presencer has not stopped surveying. He has learned to survey with his eyes closed, and to call the darkness a receiving, and to call what the darkness returns to him the future that wanted to be born.
