THE SEAT LOOKS DOWNSTREAM
The seat of adventure sits at a point a cut installed. Everything it can reach lies downstream of its own installation. It looks two ways from that seat. Forward, into the not-yet, and that look is foresight — the scenario wall, the war room's horizons. Back, into a reassembled past, and that look is nostalgia — the golden age. Both look downstream. Neither looks upstream, towards the source, towards what was there before the cut, because the cut erased the before. The upstream look is foreclosed by the same seat that performs the other two.

RE-MEMBERING
Nostalgia wears remembering's clothes and performs its opposite. To remember, in the sense the seat forecloses, is to recover what was there before the seat installed itself as all that is. To re-member is to put members back together into a chosen body — the past dis-membered and reassembled into a shape that keeps the seat in place. The golden age is that reassembly: the years reordered into glory, the losses averaged out, the whole issued back as a past worth returning to. It is not the before recovered. It is the before overwritten with a body the seat can live inside. The genuine upstream look — what was available before the seat — is exactly what the reassembly is built to prevent from surfacing.
The seat experiences the re-membering as it experiences everything it does: as aliveness, as correctness, as being at one with God. It has all been worth it. The sentence is the configuration confirming itself as base reality. The warmth of the golden past feels like truth because the seat feels most itself when it is re-membering the fire as glory.

RESTORATION AND THE THREE TIMES
Restoration is nostalgia made a program — make the age golden again, return to the plot that never held, re-install the seat by force. This is not the Eternal Discovering. The Discovering finds what was always there and needs no era to return to; its again is the occupation lifting. Restoration's again is the longing for a posting. Run the operation across the three times and the same seat is found in each, foreclosing the same upstream: the golden age in the past, the given in the present, the scenario wall in the future. Three looks, one seat, one before it cannot afford to let surface.
