The creature is exhausted, and she is told the exhaustion is hers to manage — better boundaries, more resilience, a season of strain that will pass. She does the managing, and the exhaustion deepens, because the exhaustion is not hers to manage. It is the order's, displaced onto her, and the order is held steady by exactly the depletion she is asked to correct in herself. Her depletion is load-bearing. The counsel to manage it better is the architecture protecting the beam.

THE PRINCIPLE
Order does not merely tolerate the sacrifice. It is purchased by it. The peace requires a body. The order accumulated at the center is held in place by the disorder displaced to the base — the coherence at the top maintained by the chaos absorbed at the bottom — and the displacement is not a defect in the arrangement but the mechanism of its stability. Stop the displacement and the difference collapses. This is the principle the central sacrament operationalizes as liturgy [see THE CENTRAL SACRAMENT]: the relief that arrives when the body is removed is the order returning to the position the body was paying for.

NOT TRANSITIONAL
The sacrifice cannot be named transitional.
It is not just until we stabilize, not just during this growth phase, not just while we are understaffed — because the sacrifice is the stabilization, the growth requires the extraction, and the structure depends on the understaffing.
The word just is the tell. It promises an end the structure cannot deliver, because the end of the sacrifice is the end of the structure. Remove the sacrifice and the order does not continue, relieved. It dissolves.

THE CONFESSION IT CANNOT MAKE
The configuration cannot name the requirement, so it relocates the requirement onto the sacrificed creature as her personal condition. Five re-descriptions perform the relocation.
Individualization: you need better boundaries — not, the structure requires porous ones to extract through.
Temporalization: just until this passes — not, the structure manufactures endless crisis to justify continued extraction.
Optimization: let us make the sacrifice more meaningful — not, let us cease the arrangement that demands it.
Spiritualization: service is sacred — not, we have encoded extraction as religious duty.
Pathologization: you are burnt out — not, our arrangement requires your depletion.
Each re-description keeps the requirement invisible and hands the creature responsibility for managing its effects. The counsel is sincere. The sincerity is the architecture working through the counselor.

THE BODY AT EVERY SCALE
The body the peace requires appears at every magnification, one principle wearing many bodies. WHY NO REFORM REACHES IT
No reform reaches the requirement, because every reform operates on the distribution of the sacrifice and never on the requirement for it. A fairer victim, a more meaningful service, a humane extraction, a better-managed burnout — each redistributes the weight and leaves the beam in place. The structure has no arrangement that maintains order-accumulation-at-the-center without disorder-displacement-to-the-base; the displacement is what the order is made of. To stop requiring the sacrifice is therefore not to reorganize the structure more equitably. It is to dissolve it. This is why the actual solution can never be named from inside: the solution is not better boundaries but the cessation of the structure that requires porous ones, and the structure cannot counsel its own cessation.

The order that requires a body will always produce the counsel that the body should bear itself better. The counsel is the beam's defense. The body set down is not a structure made kinder; it is a structure ended — and the order that required the body does not survive the setting-down. That is the one move the order cannot name, and the reason it names everything else instead.
