The peace that requires a body. The sacrifice is the stabilization, and the depletion is load-bearing.

The creature is exhausted, and she is told the exhaustion is hers to manage. Better boundaries. More resilience. A season of strain that will pass.
She does the managing and the exhaustion deepens, because the exhaustion is not hers. It is the order's, displaced onto her, and the order is held steady by exactly the depletion she is being asked to correct in herself.
Her depletion carries weight. The counsel to bear it better is the configuration defending what its weight is resting on.

THE PRINCIPLE
Order does not merely tolerate the sacrifice. It is purchased by it.
The coherence held at the center is maintained by the disorder displaced to the base, and the displacement is not a defect in what has been built. It is how what has been built stays up. Stop the displacement and the difference collapses, because the difference was the displacement.
This is what the central sacrament runs as liturgy. The relief that arrives when the body is removed is the order returning to the position the body had been paying for.

NOT TRANSITIONAL
The sacrifice cannot be called transitional.
Not just until we stabilize. Not just during this growth phase. Not just while we are understaffed. The sacrifice is the stabilization, the growth requires the extraction, and the understaffing is what the staffing plan is.
The word just is the tell. It promises an end that cannot be delivered, because the end of the sacrifice is the end of the thing. Remove the sacrifice and the order does not continue, relieved. It dissolves.

THE CONFESSION IT CANNOT MAKE
What cannot be said is one sentence: my order requires your sacrifice. The word requires is what breaks it, because requires converts the sacrifice from a noble gift into a specification, and from her choice into somebody's mechanism.
So the requirement is relocated onto her as a personal condition, and there are five ways of doing it.
Individualization. You need better boundaries. Not: what runs here needs porous ones to extract through.
Temporalization. Just until this passes. Not: the crisis is manufactured continuously, because continuous crisis is what licenses continuous extraction.
Optimization. Let us make the sacrifice more meaningful. Not: let us stop requiring it.
Spiritualization. Service is sacred. Not: extraction has been encoded as religious duty.
Pathologization. You are burned out. Not: your depletion is what holds this up.
Each keeps the requirement out of view and hands her the job of managing its effects. And the counsel is sincere. The sincerity is what is running here, speaking through the one who counsels.

THE BODY AT EVERY SCALE
The body the peace requires appears at every magnification, one principle wearing many bodies.
At the scale of the community, the scapegoat: accumulated rivalry discharged onto a single creature so the page can balance.
At the scale of the civilization, the soldier honored as the death that consecrates the order, and the sacrifice zone that absorbs what accumulation pushes downwards.
At the scale of the household and the firm, the creature whose depletion is conscripted and then named her calling.
At the scale of the room, the one who named what was running, removed so the room's peace can return.
The bodies differ. The principle does not.

WHY NO REFORM REACHES IT
Every reform operates on the distribution of the sacrifice and none of them operates on the requirement for it.
A fairer victim. A more meaningful service. A humane extraction. A better-managed burnout. Each redistributes the weight and leaves standing the thing the weight is holding up.
There is no configuration in which coherence accumulates at the center without disorder being displaced to the base, because the displacement is what the coherence is made of. To stop requiring the sacrifice is therefore not to reorganize more equitably. It is to dissolve.
Which is why the actual answer can never be named from inside. The answer is not better boundaries. It is the cessation of what requires porous ones, and nothing can counsel its own cessation.

WHERE IT SITS ON THE FIGURE
Order and disorder are one axis, and every remedy offered runs along it: more order here, less disorder there, a fairer split, a kinder gradient.
Cessation is not a point on that axis. It is not a better distribution of the weight. It is the setting down, which is perpendicular to every way of distributing it and is therefore unreadable as a proposal by anything whose business is where the load goes.
This is why the creature who says stop is not heard as offering a third option. She is heard as choosing chaos, because on the one axis available there is nowhere else for stop to land.

The order that requires a body will always produce the counsel that the body should bear itself better. That counsel is the defense, and it arrives in the voice of care because care is the only voice it could arrive in and still be taken.
The body set down is not a kinder order. It is an ended one, and the order that required the body does not survive the setting-down.
That is the one move it cannot name, and the reason it names everything else instead.
