
David F. Slottje, sr. is co-founder of the regenerative law institute, llc (RLI). RLI is a Social Action and Advocacy Organization that supports the co-creation of a just, equitable and inclusive world where everybody has the opportunity to flourish.
David helps his clients conceptualize transformational ways to approach the situations they face. David works with entrepreneurs, non-profits, women-led businesses and other enterprises that seek to change traditional (degenerative) operating systems and the thinking that goes with it. As their trusted advisor and thinking partner, David helps clients align their goals with the underlying principles of living systems which naturally regenerate and transform.
David co-founded and was the Executive Director of the Community Environmental Defense Council, Inc. (CEDC), a nonprofit public interest law firm. The attorneys at CEDC were the architects of the legal strategies and were leaders of the powerful grassroots movement that achieved an unprecedented statewide ban on fracking in New York State.
David has led hundreds of public hearings for municipalities considering implementing local land use laws, conducted forums to educate landowners and attorneys about oil and gas leasing, drafted complete zoning codes for towns and villages, prepared environmental impact statements, drafted Freedom of Information Act requests at the local, state and federal level, incorporated nonprofit corporations, collaborated with community groups and domestic and international NGO, written grants, led successful fundraising efforts, and coordinated legal strategy with managing attorneys from NRDC, Earthjustice, and Delaware Riverkeeper.
