A Scapegoat Staged as a Question of Fairness
A child stands outside the field while a court decides which coordinate she is. They have a body they did not choose and inhabits, a life already underway, a place they were running toward.
None of that is the question before the court.
The question is which bin they belong in, and whether they may enter the field once the bin has been assigned.
This is not a debate about fairness.
It is a religious sacrament, conducted on a grid, sold as a fight — and the body at its center is the body the peace requires.

THE GRID
The question as posed is a grid question.
It presumes the creature must first be located on a sex coordinate — assigned at birth, read off the body, fixed — and then it argues only about which coordinate and by what rule.
Both poles accept the sorting.
The ban sorts by the coordinate assigned at birth and names the sorting fairness.
The opposition sorts more carefully, pleads equal protection, and names its sorting justice.
They are not the same ruling, but they are the same move: each has already conceded that a court must classify the creature's body before they may stand in the field of a game.
The fight is only over which classification is correct. RegenerativeLaw refuses the classification — not in favor of a better one, but because the creature's standing in the relational field is prior to and outside the court's authority to plot her. Residency is not a coordinate. They were running before the grid was drawn over the track, and the grid's question — where does she go — is a question only the grid needs answered.

THE POLARITY
The fight is the product.
Trump's campaign ran an attack that aired fifteen thousand times is not the sound of a side losing an argument; it is the sound of a flashpoint being manufactured.
The generating function produces two poles and sells the distance between them as the world. While the distance is argued — which team, which body, which rule — the hand on the ledger keeps working, untouched, in the room no one is looking at. The energy a culture spends adjudicating which lane a child runs in is energy that never reaches the dispossession that has nothing to do with any child's race.
Both sides are seated on the grid, fighting hard, and the grid is what wins every time the fight is staged. The polarity does not need a victor.
It needs the fight.

THE SACRAMENT
Beneath the grid and the fight is the oldest operation.
Trespass theology's central sacrament is the scapegoat: accumulated rivalry discharged onto a single creature, and the relief that follows registering as sacred because the mechanism that produced it stays invisible.
The peace requires a body. The trans person is made into that body. The rivalry concentrated onto her was never generated by her; she absorbs a crisis the mechanism produced and is then named its cause. That reversal is the whole operation.
The lie is that they are the threat to the field.
The truth is that they are the body onto which the field's accumulated tension is discharged, so the discharge can be felt as order restored. It is always told from the side that is relieved — and the relieved do not experience a sacrifice. They experience fairness protected.

THE COSTUME OF FAIRNESS
This is the bullshit, named plainly: it is not a question, it is a sacrament wearing the costume of a question.
And the costume is cut from real cloth. There is a genuine good in women's sport, built by real struggle, and the sacrament borrows that altar precisely because it is real — a discharge feels righteous only when it is performed on a true altar. The genuine good is conscripted to sanctify the expulsion, and the conscription is what lets the relieved call the expulsion care.
The court presides over this as neutral, supplying the measurement, hearing only the single tone it can resolve — sex as coordinate, advantage as quantity — and calling its deafness to everything else clarity. It cannot hear the creature who is prior to its grid, because the grid is the only thing it has ears for. So it rules on the coordinate; the ruling is received as the settling of a fair question; the body is expelled from the field; the peace is felt; and the mechanism stays invisible, which is the one condition the sacrament cannot do without.

They are still outside the field.
The court has decided which coordinate they are; the campaign has banked the flashpoint; the relieved have their peace. They remain the body — sorted before they could run, named the threat to a field they only wanted to stand in, expelled so a rivalry they did not make could be discharged and called fair. There is no ruling that returns them to the track, because the track was drawn over by the grid the moment the question was asked. The sacrament does not need them gone. It needs them available. It will need another body when the peace wears off.
