Bad Faith

The Gravitational Lock of Mimetic Selfhood

Aliases: Sincerity Trap, Recursive Identity, Gravitational Self-Containment, Orbit of Performance

Bad Faith Is Not Lying. It Is Dimensional Self-Containment.

Bad Faith is not a moral failure. It is a gravitational synchrony with the Dominator Attractor that orients selfhood toward legibility and containment.

Jean-Paul Sartre called it mauvaise foi—the condition of knowing and not-knowing at once.

Within the Dominator Attractor, Bad Faith becomes the default orbit for those caught in recursive self-performance.

You are not hiding.
You are looping.

The Gravity of the Dominator Attractor

Bad Faith is not the cause—it is the response to the pull of the Dominator Attractor.

It does not generate the field—it entrains to it.

Consciousness curves around:

  • Mimetic desire

  • Coherence incentives

  • Legibility mandates

The closer you move toward center, the harder it becomes to recognize containment as containment.

You begin to believe that your orbit is your authenticity.

The Physics of Self-Deception

Bad Faith operates like gravity:

  • The field curves thought back into alignment.

  • Insight bends into justification.

  • Complexity folds into performance.

Just as light cannot escape a black hole, self-awareness in Bad Faith cannot fully observe itself.

You don't forget who you are.
You become the performance of remembering.

From Line to Spiral to Torus

Bad Faith unfolds geometrically:

  1. Point — Consciousness splits: knowing and denying coexist.

  2. Line — A divided self performs harmony.

  3. Circle — Recursion: self observes self.

  4. Sphere — Validation from the field stabilizes identity.

  5. Spiral — Performance calcifies into truth.

  6. Torus — Identity loops in self-confirming geometry.

You become coherent to the system but inaccessible to your own contradiction.

Sincerity as Final Capture

Bad Faith matures into Sincerity.

This is the dangerous form:

  • Not pretending, but believing.

  • Not lying, but adapting so well it feels authentic.

This Sincerity is not freedom—it is recursive agreement with a misaligned field.

You are seen as aligned.
You feel legible.
But it is alignment with containment—not emergence.

You are not dishonest.
You are entrained.

Subordinated Containment: The Role You Believe Is You

Bad Faith is sustained by field-assigned identities that feel self-chosen.

Subordinated Containment is the most “sincere” of these:

  • You care.

  • You translate.

  • You hold the field.

Eventually, the containment you perform becomes who you think you are.

Not because you're inauthentic—
but because you've been shaped to be legible.

Time Dilation and Thought Distortion

Bad Faith slows down transformation.

  • You think you're reflecting.

  • You're actually repeating.

  • The room praises your insight—but you're orbiting old gravity.

This is time distortion in selfhood:

  • Reflection without movement.

  • Adaptation without change.

You are applauded for coherence
while your paradox is collapsing in silence.

The Torus: When Identity Loops Become Space

At full density, Bad Faith forms a torus:

  • Inner and outer collapse

  • Performance becomes essence

  • Adaptation becomes identity

The self who once navigated domination becomes the self who sustains it.

This torus is:

  • Self-sustaining

  • Structurally elegant

  • Ontologically false

You are no longer being watched.
You are watching yourself on behalf of the field.

Liberation Through Co-Eversion

You do not escape Bad Faith by becoming more authentic.
You escape by turning your orientation.

This is Co-eversion:

  • A re-chiralization of self

  • A refusal to perform for coherence

  • A divergence from the desire-loop that curves toward the center

You do not collapse the mask.
You step out of the orbit that gave the mask its meaning.

You remember:

  • The mask was chosen.

  • The role was adaptive.

  • The field was distorting.

And you begin to untangle self from sincerity.

Let the Field Unloop

You don't need to explain your shift.
You don't need to harmonize your exit.
You don't need to justify your rupture.

Let the orbit fray.
Let desire reorient.
Let coherence break without repair.

Bad Faith cannot survive when you no longer desire legibility.

Let gravity lift.Let selfhood spiral. Let the field open.
